Still Travelers
A new creation by Philippe Genty
By Philippe Genty
Stage direction : Philippe Genty and Mary Underwood
Soundtrack : Serge Houppin and Henry Torgue
As a big traveller, Philippe Genty has in himself landscapes and images from countries he crossed along his numerous voyages. But there are also other landscapes Philippe Genty keeps in mind, those of his dreams. The unconscious, this rich and colourful continent, have always intrigued him. But, what is a dreamer if not a “still traveller” ?
On the stage, eight characters, more or less human, are taken into an odyssey beyond time, beyond space and beyond all physical borders. Eight “still travellers” who constantly plunge into constantly shifting situations, just like the feelings and the qualms which cross our body.
What really matters in the end, beyond all the “translations” of Philippe Genty’s shows, is the complete freedom given to the spectators, young and old alike, to choose the story they want to see.
What makes the universality of a show like Still Travelers is that everyone can quiver and wonder, of course !
